FARMINGTON, CT — The Ethel Walker School Monday announced that Abby Wollenberg has been named head varsity lacrosse coach. Wollenberg, a teacher in the Farmington public school system,
played at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island from 2015 to 2019. She was an attacker for the Hawks for four seasons and was a captain her senior campaign. Wollenberg was part of the
2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference championship team at RWU, which led to an appearance in the Division 3 NCAA tournament. "I am over-the-moon excited to take on this role as head coach
for Walker's varsity lacrosse team," Wollenberg said. "The experiences I have had throughout my lacrosse career, whether it be coaching youth teams or playing four years at
the collegiate level, have really prepared me to be successful in this position. After all the challenges of the pandemic, I am so excited to get out onto the field to coach girls who
deserve to be out playing a sport that they love." Wollenberg officially joined Walker's coaching staff effective March 15. She scored 17 goals and added six assists in Her career
at RWU. A 2015 graduate of Farmington High School, she was a four-year member and three-time letter winner on the lacrosse, volleyball and basketball teams in addition to achieving high
honors in the classroom.
