Final year, mental health nursing, University of York Hello, my name is Chelsea and I’m a final-year student mental health nurse at the University of York. It feels like a dream to be

writing for _Nursing Times_, and I am very thankful. I’m a mature student and I previously studied a degree in english literature before working in many different roles, such as

administration, sales, debt collection and finally as a receptionist in a mental health clinic. I had always wanted to work in mental health, and I had been studying counselling courses

alongside work. When I found out about mental health nursing at my last job, I knew it was exactly what I wanted to do and the rest is history. I am so excited to share my journey with you,

even if it is under strange and challenging circumstances. I have learned so much in the past two years and I would love to share what I have learned, in the hope that it can help even one

student nurse. I will be sharing my reflections, study tips, and I will never stop talking about the importance of self-care and support for student nurses. You can find me on Twitter:
