Determining the resilience of habitable conditions on a planet with time is important to maximize our chances to detect biosignatures — and is even more crucial if we are looking for
technosignatures. However, such assessment depends on a precise estimate of the temporal evolution of stellar irradiation received by the planet, which in turn depends strongly on the
evolution of its orbital parameters, something difficult to reconstruct even for the planets of our Solar System. Pam Vervoort and colleagues have approached this problem by using a N-body
simulation coupled with a 3D climatic model.
