microtubule network, according to a recent _Science_ paper. Some bacterial pathogens invade the cytoplasm of infected host cells to establish a protective niche and allow the infection to


spread to neighbouring cells. Following invasion, _S. flexneri_, _Listeria monocytogenes_ , _Burkholderia pseudomallei_ , _Mycobacterium marinum_ and the spotted-fever Rickettsiae all
