MUMBAI:Bollywood filmmaker Aditya Chopra on Saturday recorded his official statement with the Mumbai Police in connection with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. He was summoned by the cops


for questioning him regarding backing out of Shekhar Kapur's directorial venture _Paani_, which starred Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role. Chopra, however, said that the film got


shelved because of creative differences with Kapur and had nothing to do with Sushant. Sushant died by suicide at his Bandra residence on June 14, leaving the entire nation shocked and


pained. Post his demise, Kapur had tweeted that he knew the 'story of people who let him down'. "I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that


let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish I was around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours. (sic),"

Leela Bhansali. People have also been demanding a CBI enquiry into the case since a month now. However, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh recently said that the Mumbai Police is

created by Bengali writer Sharanindu Bandopadhyay. Set in the Kolkata of the 1940s, the film was reportedly to get a sequel with Sushant reprising his role. Neeraj Pandey’s biographical


drama that traces the journey of the eponymous former Indian skipper-wicket keeper saw Sushant take on another titular role. The film, which also featured Kiara Advani and Disha Patani,


secured for Sushant his first Filmfare Best Actor nomination the following year. In Dinesh Vijan’s directorial debut, a reincarnation-themed romance actioner, Sushant was paired opposite
