LEWIS HAMILTON HAS BEEN LEARNING ITALIAN SINCE JOINING FERRARI AND MADE ONE OF HIS FIRST ATTEMPTS AT SPEAKING THE LANGUAGE IN AN INTERVIEW WITH SKY SPORTS ITALY 11:06, 21 Feb 2025 Lewis
Hamilton showed off the fruits of his Italian lessons by speaking the language in a new interview. The British Formula 1 ace has been hitting the books for Italian lessons ever since
agreeing to join Ferrari. In his first days with the team he managed a few words while speaking to staff - an effort which became the butt of a playful barb by Red Bull team principal
Christian Horner this week. Having spent his entire F1 career up to now working in the UK with McLaren and Mercedes, Hamilton's leap to Maranello and Ferrari marks a huge cultural
transition for the racing star. In anticipation of this grand change, ex-Ferrari boss and current F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali gave Hamilton some sage advice. Speaking to _Autoracer_,
Domenicali said: "He will bring a lot of interest. He is learning to speak Italian and to understand how to integrate into our culture. I told him it is fundamental for him to be able
to do this as well. In Ferrari, he will find a different environment than before." READ MORE: Police punish Ferrari F1 fan who took extreme measures to watch Lewis Hamilton driveREAD

master Italian. Not only has he schmoozed with fans on his first day at the factory using their mother tongue, but he also showed off some of the new words he has learned in a bilingual
Q&A with Sky Sports Italy. Hamilton kicked off the interview with a courteous "Grazie" before tackling a question posed in Italian about his enthusiasm around the Ferrari
stint. He confidently grasped the question, no need for translation, and responded: "Si, si. [Io sono] molto emozionato. Sono felice." Translated into English, that sentence meant.
"Yes, yes. [I am] very excited. I am happy. He then continued in his own language: "I'm very proud." Red Bull boss Horner couldn't help but see the lighter side of
Hamilton's initial cracks at Italian. Reflecting on the Brit's switch to Ferrari, he told UK national media, including _MIRROR SPORT_: "I think it is very much how he goes
into it. Article continues below "I think if he gets off to a good start and gets the team around him, he'll find his confidence, and he could very capably be a real contender for
this championship. He seems to be embracing his new environment. "I saw a video of him speaking Italian the other day... or an English version of Italian. And they'll love him if
he is quick and he delivers. He'll feed off that energy. If it doesn't get off to a good start, it will inevitably be harder for him." Watch Formula One on Sky Sports This
