Horror moment car crashes into race crowd with at least 17 injured

A horrific crash at a race on an airport runway has left at least 17 people in the crowd with injuries. A shocking video, taken by a spectator, caught the moment one of the racing cars lost


control and crashed into a crowd of fans. A green BMW at the front of the grid set off at the same time as another racing vehicle but it started to swerve just seconds later. The horrific


accident happened during a quarter mile race at Krosno Airport in Poland. The vehicle then shifted to the right and ploughed into part of a large crowd of standing people, with no barrier


between them and the track. The vehicle appeared to drive straight into the spectators as people gasped and looked on in shock. The driver is believed to be a 27-year-old and no fatalities


have been reported so far. An officer from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Krosno said: "It was initially established that the 27-year-old driver of the vehicle taking part in the


competition lost control of the vehicle and drove into a group of fans." The horrific crash happened at around 12pm at Krosno Airport and the incident was reported at around 12.20pm,


according to a spokesperson for the local fire service. One person was reportedly left unconscious, according to local reports. It is unclear at the moment what happened and whether this was


a freak accident on the racecourse. Emergency services, including ambulances and firefighters, have been dispatched to the scene, according to local media. At least three emergency medical


helicopters were also dispatched to the horror scene, and most of the injured spectators were rushed to hospital. The local fire service, on X, wrote: "Nearly 30 firefighters (9


deputies) from the Krosno district fire department are providing assistance to the victims of an accident that occurred on the apron of the Krosno airport during a car race. PRM rescuers and


firefighters provided assistance to 14 people." Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of this terrifying crash.
