ROUSE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER DARIAN ROGERS, 22, HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH HAVING AN IMPROPER RELATIONSHIP WITH A TEENAGE STUDENT AFTER ANOTHER PUPIL WENT TO THE POLICE 10:28, 22 May 2025Updated

10:36, 22 May 2025 A high school teacher who allegedly had sex with a teenage pupil confessed to police she "saw him as a little brother", according to authorities. Darian Rogers,

22, has been charged with second-degree felony improper relationship between an educator and a student. A student told police in April she had “personal knowledge” of a teacher being

involved in a sexual relationship with a minor, according to court documents. The pupil had a voicemail from the student teacher, identified by police as Rogers, in which she allegedly

admitted to sending explicit photos to a 17-year-old male student. Rogers had been working at a supermarket when she met the boy, before becoming a teacher at Rouse High School in Texas. Her

alleged victim initially denied the claims to police until he was confronted with texts officers found on his phone between him and Rogers allegedly discussing the contraceptive pill.

Rogers denied having sex with the boy in her police interview and described their relationship as that of a “big sister and little brother.” Article continues below Rogers later admitted she

had had sex with the student "one time" in his truck in a car park near where they both worked, according to court documents. Rouse High School principal Vincent Hawkins sent a

letter on May 16 to families about the arrest. It said: "On Wednesday, April 9, Leander ISD was informed that authorities had received a report of an inappropriate relationship

involving a student and a student-teacher. "While this individual briefly completed student-teaching hours on our campus earlier this spring, we want to be clear: the alleged misconduct

did not occur at school, during school hours, or at any school-sponsored event. 'The individual was not a Leander ISD or Rouse High School employee and was immediately removed from

campus once the district was made aware of the situation. District administration promptly notified both the individual's university program and the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and has

fully cooperated with law enforcement throughout the investigation. 'Following the investigation, the Leander Police Department issued an arrest warrant and charges were filed against

Darian Rogers. "Because Rouse High School was mentioned in the police report, we felt it was important to address the situation directly with our school community. Any accusations of

misconduct did not happen on our campus, during school hours, or at any school-sponsored event." It comes after a PE teacher who allegedly slept with a pupil at a Premier Inn after prom

night has been struck off the teaching register. The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) decided to remove Melissa Tweedie from the teaching register after an investigation over

her alleged behaviour. Article continues below Miss Tweedie, 27, was accused of sleeping with an S6 pupil after the leavers night at SWG3 in Glasgow in June 2017.
