SCOTT SHRINER, WHO HAS BEEN BASSIST WITH WEEZER SINCE 2001, SPOKE FOLLOWING THE SHOOTING OF HIS WIFE JILLIAN LAUREN, WHO WAS LATER ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF ATTEMPTED MURDER 03:38, 11 Apr

2025Updated 03:38, 11 Apr 2025 The wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner is "alright" despite being shot by police on Wednesday. Jillian Lauren allegedly led police on a chaotic

chase following a hit-and-run crash in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. Following this, police traced Lauren, who is an author, to her home, where officers shot her and detained her on suspicion of

attempted murder. Speaking outside the property on Thursday, Shriner, 59, told reporters: "She's (Lauren) alright, thank you for asking." The musician also took this as an

opportunity to plug his band's upcoming show. He added: "See you at Coachella." There was concern Weezer would have to pull out of Coachella in Indio, California this weekend

following the arrest. However, Shriner gave a hint plans haven't changed for the alternative rock band, formed in Los Angeles in 1992. Following a three-year break, Shriner became

bassist in 2001, replacing Mikey Welsh, who had left the band for personal reasons. READ MORE: Inside life of Weezer bassist's wife who was a harem girl before cancer and cop shooting
