P DIDDY'S FORMER ASSISTANT GEORGE KAPLAN TOOK TO THE STAND ON WEDNESDAY AS PART OF THE DISGRACED MUSIC MOGULS ONGOING TRIAL IN NEW YORK WHERE HE FACES SEVERAL CHARGES DANIEL BIRD
Assistant Celebrity and Entertainment Editor 08:59, 22 May 2025 P Diddy's former assistant made several claims as he took to the stand on Wednesday. Prior to taking to the stand, George
Kaplan, who worked as Diddy's executive assistant had invoked his Fifth Amendement right to not testify citing potential self incrimination. However, Judge Arun Subramanian indicated
that he would sign an immunity order which would require Kaplan to take the stand. Disgraced music mogul Sean Combs, known as Diddy, Puff Daddy and various other aliases, is currently on
trial for a number of serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was arrested in
September and strongly denies all allegations made against him. He has been in prison since his arrest, and a number of bail requests have been rejected. As the trial entered the second
week, the likes of Cassie Ventura, Diddy's former assistant David James, Homeland Security officers and federal agents have all testified. But on Wednesday, Kaplan, who started working
for the musician in 2013 as an assistant to the Chief Operating Officer of Combs Enterprises testified. Here's everything that he said while on the stand. WORKING CONDITIONS While
testifying, Kaplan claimed that he worked around 80 to 100 hours per week. He testified that his day would typically start around 9:30am and would make sure the chef and housekeeping staff
were ready. Kaplan said he would make sure Combs' bathroom was set up. The earliest he could ever remember finishing a day was around 5 or 6 p.m., and the latest he could ever remember
was around 7 a.m. He went on to tell the court that he would communicate with Diddy on a daily basis. These conversations were about things Diddy needed and included things such as
"clothing or potentially food from somewhere, or drugs or liquor, or an iPad or a speaker." Kaplan travelled with Combs and would set up his hotel rooms with a bag that included
clothes, a speaker, candles, liquor, baby oil, and lubricant. The assistant said he came to understand his role was to protect Combs' image as he would tidy up the rooms once he left.
He said there would be sports drink bottles, liquor bottles and baby oil strewn around the hotel room after Combs left. Kaplan also testified that he picked up drugs for Combs with cash he
gave him. He said it happened once in Miami and once in Los Angeles. THREATS Diddy allegedly threatened Kaplan over his job on a regular basis. He told the court that the musician wanted to
be surrounded by the best and "those around him at the time were not performing at that level." In his first week on the job, Kaplan was asked to find one-gallon BPA-free water
bottles at Whole Foods. However, the store didn't have these in stock, so he bought two half-gallon bottles. An angry Combs fumed that Kaplan hadn't purchased what he had asked
for. "He was very close to my face," Kaplan told the court. SALARY While on the stand, George told the court he was paid $125,000 for his job, which is £93,120 in sterling. While
working for Diddy, Kaplan was tasked with picking up drugs on behalf of the musician. Article continues below He told the court that on two occasions, he was asked to pick up drugs, once in
Miami and once in Los Angeles. Combs allegedly gave Kaplan cash and a phone number to call. He said he once picked up MDMA, and on another occasion, he had no idea what the substance was.
