Running product for Signpost, our team is reminded daily recently that the struggle is real for small businesses when it comes to their online reviews. Not too long along I was one of those
merchants, held hostage by review and daily sites. The experience was crippling and brought me within months of having to close down the business that I had worked years to shape and grow.
Think of your favorite business, it might be that place you take your dog for grooming every month or that brunch spot that has the best bloody mary’s. You know the place that basically
gives you an appetizer of salty meat in your glass? When is the last time wrote them a review online? Probably never right? You haven’t done anything wrong, less than 5% of the population
leaves reviews. I think the 5%’s have had enough influence in the world!
I invite you to help a small business today. Take 5 minutes out of your day and give them a review! Go nuts and leave them a review on Google and Facebook while you are at it. Next to
shopping with them again, leaving them a review is the next best thing you can do to insure that people you will never meet get the opportunity to share the same experience you did. Believe
me…this simple gesture does more than improves their online ratings, you are supporting a local business!
