The major U.S. stock market indexes opened lower on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite all down. Stocks may be easing a bit after a pretty
substantial rally from their April lows. The S&P 500 just had a six-day winning streak, and turned higher 17 out of the last 20 trading days. Investors may be paying attention to the
various speeches from Fed presidents this week. Richmond Fed president Tom Barkin spoke right before the opening bell on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Boston Fed president Susan Collins, St. Louis Fed
president Alberto Musalem and Federal Reserve governor Adriana Kugler are also speaking today. These speeches may give investors clues into how the Fed views the economy and what went on at
recent FOMC meetings.
