Eid in the park 2025 details confirmed - including alternative plans for rain

confirmed plans that the annual celebration will take place at Platt Fields Park on Friday (June 6). Worshippers have been advised to come as early as possible, with only one prayer

scheduled to take place at 9:45am. However, in the event that it rains, three prayers will be held indoors at the Platt Lane Sports Complex at 9am, 10am and 11am. The news comes after Saudi

Arabia confirmed the dates for Eid al Adha 2025 after moon sightings took place last week. Also written as Eid ul Adha and sometimes referred to as Qurbani Eid, Bakra Eid and Greater Eid, it

begins on the 10th day of the new month - Dhul Hijah. The event is the second Eid in the Islamic calendar and follows Eid al Fitr. In Islam, Eid simply means 'festival' or

'feast' and while the Islamic calendar features two of them they are celebrated for very different reasons. The meaning of Eid al Adha is the 'feast of the sacrifice' and

is celebrated around two months after Eid al Fitr. A three-day festival, it takes place at the end of Hajj, which is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam.

The Hajj pilgrimage takes around five days to complete and is considered an integral part of a Muslim's life. It is one of the five pillars of Islam and is seen as a duty to attend for

those who can afford to do so, for many it is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Article continues below Due to its connection to Hajj and Mecca, Eid al Adha is seen as the holier of the two Eids.

Celebrations have been organised by the Alfurqan Mosque and Islamic Centre, based in Rusholme, and Makki Masjid, based in Levenshulme. We have provided details on location, timings, and

plans for the event below - including how to get there and where to park if heading to the event by car. WHERE AND WHEN IS EID IN THE PARK 2025 TAKING PLACE? Eid In The Park 2025 will take

place at Platt Fields Park in Fallowfield. The free event will begin from 8am with one salah prayer at 9:45am. HOW TO GET TO EID IN THE PARK 2025 If you’re travelling by car, you can enter

the postcode for Platt Fields Park into your sat nav, which is M14 6LA. The park is just a 15-minute drive away from Manchester city centre. The nearest public car park is the SIP Car Park

on Claremont Road (M14 5XL), which is a short walk from the park. It costs £2 for one hour, £3 for two hours, £4 for three hours, and £6 for four hours. The car park is open all day. There

is also a Council-operated car park on Thurloe Street (M14 5SG), with four hours of parking available for £1.20 and 12 hours for £10.90. As it only has 39 spaces, it is one that will fill up

quickly, but it is around 10 minutes away from the park if you do get lucky with finding a space. There is also a 115-space SIP car park on Walmer Street (M14 5DY), which is about 13

minutes away from the park. It costs £2.50 for one hour, £3 for two, £4 for three hours and £9 for 12 hours. However, as car parking spaces will be limited, it is advised to travel by public

transport where possible. The 41, 42, 42A, 42B, 42C, 43, 142, 143, 147 bus services will all stop on Wilmslow Road, which is just a short walk away from the park. The 150, 743, 763 will

The nearest tram stop is West Didsbury, which is a 17-minute walk to Platt Fields Park. WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE? According to the Met Office, Friday is forecast to have a mixture of

sunny spells and showers. Meteorologists say Friday will have "light rain showers and a gentle breeze". Chances of between 7am and 10am, when prayers are expected to take place,

are at a high 70 percent chance of light showers.
