EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL DEFEAT CONFIRMED THIS SEASON AS MAN UNITED'S WORST IN 51 YEARS AND RUBEN AMORIM ADMITTED HE WOULD QUIT IF HE IS NO LONGER WANTED. 23:08, 21 May 2025Updated 23:10, 21
May 2025 Ruben Amorim has promised to quit Manchester United without receiving any compensation if the club believe he is no longer good enough to be coach. United's worst season in 51
years was confirmed with their Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, who won a trophy for the first time since 2008 in Bilbao. Spurs have beaten United four times this season,
preventing them from scoring in three of them, and United could end the Premier League season one place above the relegation zone in 17th. United appointed Amorim in November but they have
won six out of 26 league games and their European form has ended without season-saving silverware. Amorim reiterated he remains confident in his methods but stressed it was down to the
club's decision-makers and supporters to decide if he is the right man in charge. "In this moment, I am not going to be here defending myself, is not my style," Amorim said.
"I cannot do it, is really hard for me. So I have nothing to show to the fans to say I am going to improve because of this, I had these problems, I will not do nothing. Article

the right guy, I will go the next day without any conversation about compensation. "But I will not quit again. I am really confident in my job and, as you can see, I will not change
nothing in the way I do things." The loss to Spurs marked the 16th time United have failed to score this season. The team have a -12 goal difference in the Premier League and are
interested in signing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who is only four days younger than United No.9 Rasmus Hojlund. Amorim felt United were the better team against Tottenham but again
pinpointed the team’s impotency. “What I can say is it was clear we were the better team but we managed not to score again and that is really hard to win football matches," he said.
"But the guys tried everything to win the game. In the future, we will have time to assess everything. "There were some times that we didn’t create situations, now is not that
time, we are creating situations. If you look at the opportunities we have, it’s different players. It’s not the problem of one guy. We are not scoring goals, the goalkeeper did a great job.
"Of course, I am confident in my players, it’s my job to improve my players and to arrive in January (transfer window) to make a lot of changes was not possible because of all the
problems we have to deal with. And then I had to assess the team. The problem it not just one player." _Here at the Manchester Evening News, we're dedicated to bringing you the
