United named second most valuable football club behind real madrid

world's second most valuable football club. Business magazine Forbes publishes an annual list of the world's most valuable football teams. United have been ranked second with a

value of $6.6billion (£4.9bn), and a revenue of $834m (£620m) in the 2023/24 season. The club's value also increased by 1 per cent. Real Madrid have been named first for a fourth

successive edition with a value of $6.75bn (£5bn), while fellow Spanish powerhouse Barcelona sit third in the financial standings at $5.65 bn (£4.1bn). United have one of the strongest

brands in the world after dominance in the 1990s and 2000s. Sir Alex Ferguson helped build the club into a commercial juggernaut during his reign. However, the value of the club is expected

to drop when Forbes publish their list of world's most valuable teams in 12 months' time because the 2024/2025 season was a disaster. Article continues below United lost against

Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final last month, which means there will be no European football at Old Trafford next season. The club's financial picture looks bleak and the

absence of European broadcast revenue is a huge blow to Ineos chiefs. in February, United published their financial figures for the final three months of 2024 and they confirmed broadcasting

revenue had declined by 42 per cent to £61.6million. That was due to United playing in the Europa League instead of the Champions League this season. The results also showed total revenue
