THE PRESENTER REFLECTED ON HER TIME AT THE SOAP AWARDS AFTER EASTENDERS TOOK HOME MOST OF THE WINS 10:24, 02 Jun 2025Updated 10:51, 02 Jun 2025 Jane McDonald appeared on Lorraine as she
discussed her time at the British Soap Awards, before revealing that she "flirted outrageously" with a Coronation Street star. The British Soap Awards returned to celebrate some of
the best talent within the industry as villains and heroes alike gathered in London with the hopes of receiving some of the coveted awards. It wasn't a fantastic night for the northern
soaps as EastEnders swept the awards, even winning the biggest one of all - Soap of the Year. Jane McDonald returned once again to present the awards which viewers can watch at home on
Thursday 5th June. Appearing on Lorraine, Jane sat down with Ranvir Singh as she shared what it was like at the awards. She said: "I think the writers and the actors, and all the soaps
really excelled this year. I mean, the 40th live, time jumps with Hollyoaks, limo crashes with Emmerdale. I mean, there was just so many fantastic stories. "The thing about soap, they
do it well, they research it, they work extremely hard. I love the Soap Awards because it celebrates the writers as well. Everybody is there to celebrate their craft and for me to presenter
of it, it's my dream job!" Article continues below When Ranvir probed over who Jane gets "starstruck" over, the star joked: "I was a bit starstruck and flirted
outrageously. I did with Kit Green and even asked him if he bought handcuffs, but he didn't answer me. He's just beautiful, and it's funny because he's quite a villain in
Corrie". Jacob Roberts joined Coronation Street as Kit Green back in 2024, and was recently involved in a major storyline that saw his childhood friend Mick Michaelis brutally murdered
PC Craig Tinker. Jane added: "Then you've got Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle) who is the nicest man. The nicest people you could ever wish to meet. So all the villains usually are the
most lovely people." Ranvir then referenced Jane calling the soaps a "really good friend", to which she responded: "There a lot of people who can't wait to see their
'family' if you like, because they're consistent, they're always there. And there's a lot of people alone as well who just love that familiarity." Reflecting
on EastEnders big win, she continued: "It was a real shame that he (Steve McFadden) wasn't there, but Adam (Ian Beale) did a great job of helping everybody... It was just the best
atmosphere ever!" Article continues below LORRAINE AIRS ON WEEKDAYS AT 9AM ON ITV1 AND IS AVAILABLE TO STREAM ON ITVX.
