firefighters were called to Baguley Crescent in Middleton, near Rochdale, on Tuesday evening following reports of a fire. A 45-year-old man - who hasn't been named - was sadly


pronounced dead at the scene, Greater Manchester Police said in a statement issued on Friday. The tragedy isn't being treated as suspicious, said a force spokesperson. The


coroner's office has been informed ahead of an inquest into his death opening. Images from the scene showed firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entering the flat complex. It's


believed a fire was contained to the man's flat. There have been no reports of any other injuries or casualties. Images from the scene show a front window boarded up and charred bricks


above it. No cause has been revealed by police or the fire service. Article continues below One neighbour said: "Police and the fire brigade came, and there were police dogs too.
