marketplace section offers an even wider range of products than its stores by providing a platform for third-party sellers. Among the products on this platform are thousands of health and

beauty items. This includes moisturises, skin serums and eye creams as well as hair products. Many of the products seen are offered at greatly reduced prices. One of these products is the

Skin Research ceramide face cream. The cream comes in a 50ml pot and is on sale for £9.90 - reduced from £85. The cream is said to be “infused with hyaluronic acid and green tea extract,”

which “targets fine lines and wrinkles while deeply nourishing your skin”. Article continues below It is also described as being “lightweight and fast-absorbing” as well as being ideal for

“mature skin”. The website, What’s in My Jar, has reviewed other Skin Research products in the past, calling into question the honesty of some of their skincare claims. For example, they

questioned the anti-aging capabilities of the Skin Research Pro Hyaluronic Acid Day Cream. The website stated that “This product does not contain ingredients that are able to reduce fine

lines and wrinkles or help with skin elasticity, but it can improve the look of the skin temporarily through moisturization.” It did add, however, that “well-moisturised skin might also be

able to repair the sun damage better”. Article continues below The website also provides an ingredient “dictionary,” which explains the purpose of hundreds of common skin care ingredients.

Other products in Tesco’s health and beauty section include a green caviar day and night moisturiser from Dr Botanicals reduced from £89 to £12.90. The retailer recently announced the return

of its clothing line F&F to its online store.
