his first day in charge of the club. Gascoigne, 58, began his career with Newcastle United in 1985 and made appearances for numerous clubs across the UK and Europe, including Tottenham


Hotspur, Lazio, Rangers, and Middlesbrough before joining Everton. The Gateshead-born midfielder made his debut for Everton in 2000 and went on to make 32 appearances for the club over two


years. During his time at Goodison Park, the England icon worked with Walter Smith until he was replaced by Moyes in March 2002. And Gascoigne has recalled what Moyes told Everton’s players

left,” he revealed to Esports Insider. “He’s not played any top-level football or managed any big team. We’ve got eighteen internationals from the likes of Wales, Scotland, myself. “He just


came in, he says, 'I’m the manager. I’ve seen how you played on Saturday. Mess about with me and I’ll cut your f**king balls off!' Those were his first words, and I went:


'Well, I won’t be staying with him.' “He did ring us up and say, come back to the club. Give me a chance to work with you. But I’d made my position there.” Moyes returned to


Everton earlier this year, replacing Sean Dyche, and Gascoigne has praised the Scot for the job he has done since he arrived back at Goodison in January. Article continues below He said:
