Coined as the "rarest" 50p in circulation by the Royal Mint, this hot commodity features an Atlantic salmon and is part of the special collection minted in 2023 to mark King


Charles III’s coronation. Only 200,000 of these coins, which display an Atlantic salmon on the tail side and a portrait of King Charles on the head side, were ever released into circulation.


This low mintage makes it rarer than even the famous 2009 Kew Gardens 50p, with 210,000 pieces minted. An expert, known online as the Coin Collecting Wizard. discussed the 50p's rarity


and potential value in a TikTok video. He explained: "Rare 50p coin sells for £100 and there are more out there. Did you know this is just a normal 50p coin? “But wait, in the UK, 50p


coins come in loads of different designs. But this, this is the Atlantic salmon 50p and it's not just any coin. "It's already the new definitive 50p. Why is everyone freaking


out about a fish on a coin?" Previously, he had predicted that collectors might be willing to pay up to £80 for the special 50p coin. In his latest update, he said: "Well, one of
