AN EXPERT FROM WHICH? HAS SHARED FIVE WAYS OF MAKING YOUR PHONE BATTERY LAST LONGER 10:26, 24 May 2025 Your phone dying while you're out can be a huge inconvenience. You might be trying
to meet up with friends, book a taxi or be waiting on an important call. Fortunately, an expert from Which? has shared five ways to make your phone battery last longer. Which?, the
UK's leading consumer champion, claims just doing one thing can have a "huge impact". Here are the five ways of making your phone battery last longer: TURN ON LOW POWER MODE
This is quite obvious, but turning on low power mode will restrict some of the background functions such as automatic downloads and screen brightness, helping to save the battery on your
phone. The Which? expert said: "On iPhone, tap settings, battery and low power mode. On an Android, look in your settings for battery saver or power-saving mode." TURN OFF LOCATION
TRACKING Which? states that "GPS is a big battery drain". So switching it off will stop apps like maps or apps such as Find My iPhone, Find My Device or Smart Things from working
effectively. Article continues below The Which? expert added: "To turn this off on iPhone use settings, privacy and security location settings. On Android, tap settings, location or
swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the location icon. Remember to turn it back on though when your battery returns to a full charge." BATTERY DRAINERS The expert said:
"Some apps consume more battery than others. Even when you're not using them. Check what's using the most power by going to settings, battery and battery usage on iPhone and
Android." SCREEN SETTINGS Turning down the screen brightness or switching on dark mode can have a "huge impact," according to the Which? expert. She added: "Which? tests
showed over 15 extra hours on some phones just by dimming the screen. "Reducing your screen timeout settings can also play a part. This controls how long your screen stays on when not
in use. On iPhone, open settings, display and brightness, auto lock. "On Android, head to settings, display and touch screen and screen timeout." AIRPLANE MODE The Which? expert
added: "You can always rely on trusty airplane mode to get you through when your battery's depleting, but you won't have full use of any of the apps that require data or
location." Article continues below
