'CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED' TOM CRUISE FILM AIRING ON TV TONIGHT 04:00, 01 Jun 2025 Viewers have the opportunity to watch one of Tom Cruise's best films tonight on ITV. The movie
star's filmography is full of smash hits across his 40 year career in Hollywood. The 62-year-old has returned to the big screen with the final film of his Mission Impossible franchise
currently in cinemas. In celebrations of its release, ITV is airing another the movie star's blockbuster hits tonight. In the days of streaming with endless options available, finding
the ideal Sunday night movie can be a difficult task. But viewers don't need to waste any time tonight as Minority Report is available to watch on 10.20pm. The 2002 sci fi film saw the
Hollywood star team up with legendary director Steven Spielberg for the first time. The movie is an adaptation of Philip K. Dick's novella and is set in the year 2054. Cruise plays John
Anderton, a police officer in the PreCrime unit, which is able to prevent crimes before they take place. However, he must go on the run to prove his own innocence when he is framed for a
future murder. The film was a huge success when it was released as it was in the top 10 highest grossing movies of 2002 and brought in a whopping $358m. Article continues below The film also
received positive reviews from critics and currently boasts 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, some critics have argued its cultural impact should have been more significant. Although
Minority Report saw two Hollywood titans team up in Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg, Gabrielle Bruney from Esquire said it hasn't had the same lasting impact on pop culture as it could
have. She said: "There's a certain breed of big-budget classics with broad appeal that are have been nearly neutralized by their continued popularity. Back to the Future?
Unwatchable. Jurassic Park? Not on your life. They're great films, but they've been so absorbed into our cultural consciousness that we're in a near constant state of
engagement with them. The critic added: "But there's one acclaimed, thrilling, and deeply fun big-budget adventure that's been a bit more immune to this cultural
cannibalization. If you're looking for a movie that's just as immersive now as it was when it was released, a summer blockbuster that can still be viewed first hand, you've
got to watch Minority Report." Minority Report was still a critical success and earned comparisons to another adaptation of a Philip K Dick novella with Blade Runner. Empire Magazine
said: "Hugely ambitious and wildly successful in parts, only a tricky third act trips up a master director clearly enjoying himself in virgin territory. Nonetheless this stands as the
best future noir since Blade Runner." However, Minority Report does not boast as much of an enduring legacy as Ridley Scott's 1982 classic starring Harrison Ford is regarded as one
of the most iconic and talked about films of all time. Viewers have taken to social media platform X and said Minority Report deserves more attention. @TheCinesthetic said: "We don’t
talk about Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report enough—featuring one of Tom Cruise’s most underrated performances" Other viewers agreed with this assessment as Brent Hughes said:
"Minority Report is Tom Cruise's most underrated movie. The jet pack fight. The car factory sequence. The swapping eyes section. Such a great movie" JT said: "Minority
Report is criminally underrated" MINORITY REPORT AIRS TONIGHT ON ITV AT 10.20PM. Article continues below
