Police attended a property on Mersey Street, Warrington, at around 2pm today, May 22, as part of "ongoing arrest attempts". The force confirmed that during the arrest attempt, a
man fell from a first-floor window. Paramedics were called to the scene and the man was subsequently taken to Warrington Hospital for treatment. Cheshire Police said the incident has been
referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) in line with "normal procedure". Witnesses at the scene reported seeing around five police cars and a riot van. A large
police presence remains in the area and inquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing. A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 2pm today, Thursday, May 22, officers attended an
address on Mersey Street, Warrington, as part of ongoing arrest attempts. Article continues below “Upon entering the premises, a man was witnessed falling from a first-floor window.
“Paramedics were called to the scene, and the man has since been taken to Warrington Hospital for treatment. “Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and the matter has been
referred to the IOPC in line with normal procedure.”
