Bris, who used Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayenda up front to win promotion via the play-offs. But he believes that making the right final call will come down to tactics and social life.

“Jamie Vardy is definitely an option for Sunderland, but he needs space to operate in,” he said. “It also depends on how Sunderland want to play, and that is for the coach Regis Le Bris to

decide. For example, whether they want to focus on being defensively strong or hold the ball. "If you think about the player-side of the transfer, Vardy likes his social life and might

prefer a move to America rather than Sunderland; it depends on what he’s looking for at this stage in his career." Isidor scored 13 times in the Championship while Mayenda got 10 but it

is a different world at a higher level. Poyet told BetBrain: “It’s difficult to find a player that is going to score goals regularly for you in the Premier League. There are many players

that can score between 15-20 goals in the Championship, but once they get to the Premier League, they’re up against the best defenders in the world and might manage eight or nine goals in a

season - which isn’t bad – but who else is going to get the rest? “You can be great defensively and play the ball nicely, but you need to score goals as a team. Everyone wants the ‘special’

player who scores the goals, but they’re a rarity. How many times do we talk about a replacement for Harry Kane, at Tottenham and England? That type of player doesn’t come around very often,
