Man seriously injured after 'being struck by car in street row'

A man suffered "serious injuries" when he was allegedly hit by a car in Leicester. The incident is said to have happened following an altercation between a group of people in a


residential street. A girl aged 14 and a boy aged 16 are among five people arrested. Leicestershire Police said it received a report just after 5.30pm yesterday (Monday, May 19) that two


cars had boxed in a grey Mercedes-Benz A200 while it was parked in Peebles Way, Rushey Mead, before an altercation allegedly took place. When officers attended, they found that a man in his


30s had allegedly been struck by the Mercedes as it left Peebles Way, said a police spokesperson. The man was taken to hospital where he remains, receiving treatment for injuries which the

people – a 32-year-old man, a 50-year-old woman, a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl – had been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They remain in custody. A 23-year-old man was


arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs. He also remains in custody. Detective Sergeant Vicki Hudson, from the


force's Complex Investigation Team (CIT), said: "Our investigation to establish the circumstances that led to this incident are continuing today, and I'd like to speak to


anyone who can help and has not yet contacted police. This incident happened in a residential area in broad daylight and I'm sure there are witnesses who will be able to assist our


investigation." Detectives want to speak to anyone who might have captured the incident on a mobile phone, doorbell camera, dashcam or CCTV. Det Sgt Hudson added: "Anyone who was
