Coronation Street's Beth Tinker star Lisa George has shared her thoughts on her co-star's exit. On Wednesday night's episode, soap watchers were left 'sobbing' when

Craig Tinker, played by Colson Smith, was killed off after 14 years on the ITV soap. Earlier this week, Craig became the unfortunate victim of Mick Michaelis' furious quest for revenge

against Kit Green, culminating in Craig's distressing demise Tragedy struck when Craig was brutally attacked by Mick with a baseball bat after he pulled over the criminal for speeding

and drink driving. The assault proved fatal, and Craig later succumbed to his injuries in hospital, leaving the residents of Weatherfield in a state of shock and grief. This dramatic exit

marks the end of an era for Coronation Street, as Craig has been a beloved fixture on the show since 2011. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night following the heartbreaking episodes,

actress Lisa George, who played Craig's mum Beth Tinker, shared her thoughts on the soap exit. Posting a collection of snaps of Beth and Craig over the years, Lisa, 52, penned:

"Our Craigy… the best mother and son duo for 13 years. "Well done with all you’ve achieved @colsonjsmith!! A new chapter begins, wishing you all the luck in the world! It was a

pleasure working with you for all that time and I can’t wait to see what you do next #corrie #coronationstreet #motherandson #craig #beth #actorslife #workworkwork #itv." Responding to

the post, Craig star Colson, 26, penned: "Thank you Lisa! His mum would have kept him safe! Xx." Meanwhile, other soap watchers were quick to ask if this meant Beth star Lisa would

be returning to the cobbles for Craig's funeral. Beth left the ITV soap last year after a 13-year tenure following being blackmailed by Kit. Beth first debuted on the show 14 years ago

in 2011, alongside on-screen son Craig. One person said: "Gonna miss our Craig, hope this means your back for a while to say goodbye?", a different account wrote: "Aww hope

you're back soon, would make sense as a mother", another commented: "please come back for his funeral" while a different account added: "hope you'll be back for

his funeral." Earlier this year, Colson announced his departure from the soap, revealing: "Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinkers time on the Cobbles is to come to end in

2025." He went on to express his gratitude for his 14-year tenure on the show, as well as crediting the show with teaching him valuable life lessons. Colson signed off his announcement

with: "For Me, this is just the end of the beginning. I genuinely can't wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for me. LONG LIVE THE COBBLES!" CORONATION STREET CONTINUES ON
