Sports teams in the Los Angeles Unified School District will be able to practice and play games on professional development days under a rule change approved earlier this week. Previously,
teams were banned from practicing after school on days teachers had their professional development days, leaving City Section football teams at a disadvantage when they couldn’t practice on
Tuesdays like their Southern Section counterparts. Games also will be allowed but after 4 p.m. when buses become available for transportation. It has been a request coaches have sought for
years. Twitter:@LATSondheimer MORE TO READ
