Two people were killed Thursday after their disabled car was struck from behind alongside the center divider of the southbound Ventura Freeway in Thousand Oaks.
The accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. near the Ventu Park Road offramp. The victims’ 1996 Buick Skylark had broken down and was parked along the divider at the time, according to the
California Highway Patrol. Authorities did not release the victims’ identities.
At some point, a Toyota Camry slammed into the disabled vehicle, killing the two people inside. The two Camry passengers were taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center where they were
being treated late Thursday, authorities said. No other details were available.
The crash tied up traffic along the Conejo Grade, stretching into Camarillo.
