Police chased two 16-year-old boys in a stolen car Wednesday morning for more than half an hour through Chula Vista and National City, ending with their arrests in Paradise Hills, police
said. The boys did not halt for a routine traffic stop by a Chula Vista police officer about 8:15 a.m. on Palomar Street, police said. The officer followed the pair onto northbound
Interstate 5, where they exited on 24th Street and National City police took over the pursuit. “The chase in National City went on for 32 minutes, and I couldn’t begin to tell you where they
all went,” said a National City police spokesman. The car finally stopped at 9:20 a.m. at Morningside and Ablemarle streets in Paradise Hills. The boys got out and ran, but were caught by
police. There were no injuries and no damage, police said. The two youths were being held on suspicion of auto theft, possession of stolen property and felony evading. MORE TO READ
