U.S.-backed Contras and Nicaraguan officials agreed to conduct high-level peace talks as scheduled this weekend in Managua, after having resolved disputes that had threatened the
negotiations. Both sides said they will start the high-level negotiations today at the El Camino Real Hotel, beginning work on ending the six-year-old guerrilla war. The high-level peace
talks are called for in the cease-fire accord signed by the two sides on March 23. The Sandinistas earlier bowed to Contra pressure to resume talks on the technical details of a
truce--including the withdrawal of rebels to cease-fire zones--and resumed those negotiations in the border post of Sapoa. In return, the rebels withdrew their demand that the technical
