Terry Carpenter threw a one-hitter as Edison High School defeated Fullerton, 5-0, in the first round of the Canyon softball tournament at Paralta Park Thursday. Carpenter (4-1), who has


three no-hitters this season, struck out 16 and allowed only a second-inning single. Edison is 5-1. In other Canyon tournament games: Kennedy 7, Westminster 4--Laura Graper drove in two


runs, one on a solo home run, to lead Kennedy (5-2) at Riverdale Park in Anaheim. Western 7, Millikan 1--Dina Petersen tossed a three-hitter for Western at Canyon High School. Mater Dei 3,
