El Camino 11, Golden West 8--The Warriors scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to overcome a 6-5 deficit and defeat the Rustlers at El Camino College.
Dave Solorzano went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Greg Martin had three hits for Golden West, which dropped to 5-4 in conference, 9-6 overall.
Saddleback 17, Citrus 16--Dan Rawson hit a three-run home run in the eighth to tie the game, 16-16, and Bill Lasher followed with a bases-empty homer to put the Gauchos ahead as Saddleback
beat the Owls at home.
Lasher went 4 for 5 and scored three runs, and Tom Harmon, who hit a home run in the second, had 3 hits and 4 RBIs. Keith Hatch added 3 hits, 2 RBIs and 2 runs, and Chad Fouts had three hits
and scored a run for Saddleback (1-1, 7-7).
Jody Garcia had three hits, including two homers, for Citrus (1-1).
Cypress 11, Orange Coast 10--The Chargers scored four runs in the ninth--one on an error, two on Dave Brodt’s double and one on Rick Nen’s single--to defeat the Pirates at Orange Coast
College.
Paul Bunch had 4 hits and 3 RBIs for Cypress, which scored five runs in the fifth inning and improved to 1-1, 15-7. Rex Peters went 3 for 5 with an RBI, Mark Rassmussen went 2 for 4 with two
RBIs and Joey James had two hits for Orange Coast (1-1, 14-5).
Rancho Santiago 11, Riverside 2--Mike Anthony and Rich Gonzales combined for a one-hitter to lead the Dons (2-0, 12-3) to the victory at Rancho Santiago College.
Gonzales, who allowed no hits and struck out four over the last four innings, also had 4 hits and 3 RBIs. Brent Reese went 2 for 3 with three RBIs, including his sixth homer of the season.
Anthony struck out four and allowed one hit in the first five innings.
