SAN DIEGO — The Sockers are expected to announce the signing of midfielder Branko Segota to a multiyear million-dollar contract today at a press conference in San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium.
Segota, one of the Major Indoor Soccer League’s best players, has been in negotiations with the Sockers since the preseason. It was confirmed Monday that goalkeeper Jim Gorsek broke his left
hand in Friday night’s game against Kansas City. Gorsek will be in a cast for 10 days and could return to action as soon as three weeks. The Sockers only play four games in the next 19
days. Midfielder Juli Veee pulled a hamstring in his left leg Friday night and is doubtful for the Sockers’ home game against Dallas Saturday night. MORE TO READ
