CHENNAI SUPER KINGS LOST THEIR 13TH MATCH OF THE INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 2025 TO RAJASTHAN ROYALS AFTER FAILING TO DEFEND 187 AT THE ARUN JAITLEY STADIUM IN DELHI. CHENNAI SUPER KINGS HAVE

EQUALLED AN ALL-TIME EMBARRASSING RECORD AFTER GOING DOWN TO THE ROYALS. New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings have equalled an all-time unwanted record in their IPL history after going down to

Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday, May 20. CSK failed to defend 187 in their second last clash against the Royals as the RR batters hunted down the target with six wickets in hand and 17 balls to

go. CSK have equalled their all-time unwanted record of most defeats in a season. This was CSK's 10th loss in IPL 2025, which is their joint-most in an IPL season, level with 10 defeats

in 2022. MOST LOSSES FOR CSK IN AN IPL SEASON: 2025 - 10 defeats in 13 matches* 2022 - 10 defeats in 14 matches  2020 - 8 defeats in 14 matches  2012 - 8 defeats (including final) in 19

matches  2024 - 7 defeats in 14 matches RR batters Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel starred as the Royals put the chasing monkey off their backs and hunted

down the total with ease. Suryavanshi and Jaiswal set things up pretty well with Jaiswal being the aggressor up front.  The senior Southpaw scored 36 from 19 balls before the 14-year-old

left-hander took over. He kept smashing balls, reminding the fans of his power and skill, as he manoeuvred his way to a 57-run knock from 33 balls. CSK tried to forge a comeback and remind

RR of their chasing ghosts.  Ravichandran Ashwin and Noor Ahmed snared a few wickets as they kept the fading hopes alive for CSK, however, Jurel was vigilant this time around with Shimron

Hetmeyer partnering him in the mini-association. RR kept going with the run rate and despite losing a few wickets, they always were on the front foot. The formalities ended when Jurel

slammed a six in the 18th over to take RR home.  Notably, CSK are set to finish last in IPL 2025. While they can still avoid a last-placed finish, it will be the first time that they will

finish last in an IPL ever, unless they find a huge win against Gujarat Titans in their last match. Earlier, CSK had made 187 on the back of strong contributions from Ayush Mhatre, Dewald

Brevis and Shivam Dube. While Mhatre's 43 gave the early impetus, Brevis helped the Super Kings in the middle stage with his 42-run knock, followed by Dube's 39 that took CSK to a

total that didn't prove out to be enough in the end.
