A People’s Conference worker, who was critically injured last week after falling from a moving vehicle at a rally near Bakhi Haker area of Handwara here, succumbed to his injuries today. The
worker Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, a resident of Bhawan Watser inRajwar area, had gone to attend a workers’ convection of People’s Conference atChinar Park in Handwara town on April 9. When the
vehicle (load carrier) he wasboarding, reached near Bakhi Hakhar, he suddenly fell from it and was injured. Mir had been immediately taken to Handwara district hospitalin an unconscious
state, from where the doctors referred him to SMHS forfurther treatment in critical condition. Mir was battling for life at the SMHS hospital Srinagar forseven days and today in the morning
he breather his last. A case has been registered in police station Handwara andinvestigation taken up in this regard, a police official said. Meanwhile, PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone
expressed grief overthe death of his party worker. “Mushtaq Ahmed of Bowan our Deh president breathed his last.He was injured in our rally at Handwara. We salute u Mushtaq. I am sad
andheartbroken. I wish I could make it up to u for all that U did for me and theparty. But u r no more. May Allah grant u Jannat (sic),” Lone said in a tweeton Tuesday.
