A militant was killed in a gunfight with the goverment forces in Reshipora area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday. Quoting reports, news agency GNS reported that a


militant was killed in the gunfight which broke out after a joint team of army’s 42RR, 180 BN CRPF and SOG cordoned off Reshipora. A police officer confirmed to news agency GNS that one


militant was killed whose identity was yet to be ascertained.  Reports said the slain militant is believed to be a member of Zakir Musa led group Ansar Ghazwatul Hind. POLICE VERSION: A

Tral Township. As the searches were going on, the search party was fired upon by the militants. The fire was retaliated leading to a gunfight.  In the ensuing encounter, one militant was


killed and his body was retrieved from the site of encounter. His identity and affiliation is being ascertained. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the


site of encounter. Police has registered a case and initiated investigation in the matter. Citizens are requested not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove


dangerous due to stray explosive materials. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials if any.
