The gorgeous dog friendly japanese restaurant near castle with delicious food

Tucked away in a former royal train station on cobbled streets with boutique shops and castle views, is a "beautiful" restaurant customers can't stop raving about. Just a

stone's throw from the Surrey border in Windsor, you'll find the Japanese restaurant with friendly staff that diners would recommend to all. Located in the Victorian train station

built in 1850, this restaurant comes recommended by those who have spent a long day sightseeing and are looking for a relaxing, unique dining experience. Windsor Royal was remodelled in

1897, with a private Royal suite for Queen Victoria. The restaurant is close to the full sized replica of Queen Victoria's locomotive, in a quiet part of the concourse. Blossom pink is

the theme, with a sakura logo, from the front, the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing. I love the location, it's perfect for relaxing after a shopping trip in the bustling town

centre. Some many not know that Windsor is very accommodating to dogs, and in fact every shop I visited no one batted an eyelid. Rupert has become my little shopping buddy, and unlike the

stereotypical man, he loves browsing the aisles and greeting other shoppers. We did some window shopping in Zara, Mango, Pandora and Swaroski while we were in town before grabbing lunch at

Intoku. Sitting outside the restaurant, the exterior is still sheltered so you're protected by the weather. Once sat down, friendly staff promptly came to the table with menus, water

and a dog bowl for Rupert. The atmosphere was relaxing and it didn't take me long to peruse the menu before I found a mouth watering dish. Perfect for a light summer lunch, I chose the

salmon poké salad. Served with fresh salmon, the dish includes rice and salad. The portion was deceptively big, with a decent serving of salmon. The salad was comprised of seaweed, peppery

radish, cucumber, tasty edamame beans and topped with crispy shallots and drizzled in sesame dressing. In total, I only spent £16.95 for lunch, as I didn't get any drinks. Other diners

in the reviews, customers state prices are higher than average, which may be the case however I still managed to enjoy a tasty lunch for under £20. One customer said via Google: "We had

a lovely lunch at this beautiful restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. "The chef came out to talk to customers which I love! The food was very tasty, cooked with

fresh ingredients. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. "The prices are higher than the average but its worth the tasty fresh food and the service. I will definitely return."

While I really enjoyed visiting Intoku, and was keen to just enjoy a simple lunch, I did come away with one regret. I wish I had tried more from the menu, particularly one of the main dishes

or a sharing platter of sushi rolls. The menu is beautifully made, with a large variation of dishes, including katsu curries, steaks, shredded beef and wok fry. Bruch bites are great for a

quick snack, with katsu fried chicken, shredded cabbage, ramen egg on a baked brioche for £12.95. Customers are covered from morning until evening, because the restaurant also has a

breakfast menu with chicken katsu waffles with maple for £12.95, or a twist on the English classic with fried eggs, smoked mackerel, crispy hash browns, beans, mushrooms and rosemary grilled

tomatoes and sourdough toast for £13.85. Of course, sushi is a plays a big roll at the restaurant, with dragon dishes of all colours, and sharing platters. Sharers start at £28.95 for 17

pieces, and the priciest comes in at £90 with a whopping 66 pieces of sushi including premium uramaki, sashimi and maki. Another customer wrote via Google: "After a long day

sightseeing, we headed towards Intoku. We did not have a reservation but we were warmly welcomed in. Megan answered all our questions and gave fab recommendations. The food was DELICIOUS!
