Just minutes into the new release, some fans of Amazon Prime are airing grievances, labelling the latest 'The Not Very Grand Tour' installment 'very insulting'. Amazon is
releasing four special episodes designed to pay homage to the car-centred magazine-style series that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May helmed. The Grand Tour, often viewed as a
spiritual heir to their version of BBC's Top Gear, made its transition from the public broadcaster to Amazon Prime Video in 2016, resulting in six seasons followed by several specials
produced between 2019 and 2024. Despite its official conclusion with the last episode, 'One For The Road', which premiered in September 2024 where Clarkson cited struggles with the
demands of filming such series as a factor for the show's end, fans have been treated to a surprise release, reports Gloucestershire Live. Today (April 18), the first of four parts
dropped, offering retrospective commentary on past episodes of The Grand Tour. However, this time around it is only Hammond and May returning to present, while Clarkson chose not to
participate. Fans have expressed discontent over the decision to repurpose old footage in this manner, taking to social media to express disappointment. A fan voiced their displeasure on a
platform X: "Well The Not Very Grand Tour was just a clip show, you could have done more like have made new segments specifically for it...." Fans also took to a Reddit thread to
voice their opinions, and one remarked: "Unpopular opinion but I can just put on a YouTube playlist and watch this show for free any time I want." The same person added: "It
feels almost insulting that this is what we're getting. With the hours upon hours of footage shot for the Grand Tour they could have done something really great and done some fantastic
new behind the scenes stuff. "All we're getting is reheated clips with a two minute introduction from two thirds of the team as Jeremy Clarkson missing. Frankly it's just not
good enough." Some viewers expressed gratitude for new material, even if it was rehashed, as one fan put it: "They used to do clip show for top gear too and I enjoyed them.
There's nothing wrong with these as long as they include a bit of previously un released content or new narration by James and Hammond." Others, however, argued that clip shows
seem outdated in today's streaming-centric world, noting that many fans would have already rewatched the series on their own. A distraught viewer pleaded: "Don't trot out the
mutilated remains of The Grand Tour, and ask me to pretend it's fresh content. Just let it go already. Or like, give me a directors commentary track." _THE NOT VERY GRAND TOUR IS
STREAMING ON AMAZON PRIME._
