Anita Dobson has opened up about the "deeply challenging" time she faced while caring for her husband, Queen guitarist Brian May, during his health struggles. In 2020, Anita, 76,
discovered Brian on the floor of their London home. Initially, she thought Brian's discomfort was due to an exercise injury, but he suspected a heart attack. Subsequent medical
attention confirmed that Brian had indeed experienced a "small" heart attack. At the time, 77-year-old Brian disclosed that he "could have died" after having three
blocked arteries. Brian underwent a procedure to have three stents inserted to keep his arteries open. Anita shared that Brian then endured further health complications during the
coronavirus pandemic. Speaking on the Tea with Twiggy podcast, Anita recounted the ordeal, saying: "We were in London, it was deeply challenging because Brian had a heart-attack and he
had sciatica and then he had a haemorrhage. I was Florence Nightingale and it's not a role I am not castable for." "I did my best, I valiantly became came La Poncia from one
of those Lorca plays, one of those old housekeepers who floods around bringing food and various books for the patient. It was very hard. "He just suddenly was laying on the floor and
said, 'Darling, I think I'm having a heart-attack' and I said, 'It must be the physio, it must be the exercise, you've just overdone it, strained something', he
said, 'No, trust me, it's a heart-attack' and you know that moment when you think, 'I'm a capable woman, I'd know what to do'. I just went into shock for
30 seconds." In a 2020 Instagram video, Brian recounted his surprise at suffering a heart attack, stating: "I thought I was a very healthy guy. But I turned out to have three
arteries that were congested and in danger of blocking the supply of blood to my heart." He also shared that he had made a full recovery, adding: "I walked out with a heart
that's very strong now, so I think I'm in good shape for some time to come." Anita is set to reappear on television screens in the series finale of Doctor Who on BBC One
tonight (May 24), as her character Mrs Flood was revealed to be the Rani - one of the Doctor's oldest adversaries. Reflecting on the revelation, she spoke to the BBC: "I had a few
suspicions of my own along the way. Throughout the series, my makeup artist and I used to discuss it, we'd say 'She's that... oh no, she can't be'. "Another
day, she'd say 'I know, she's this person', and I'd say, 'No, I don't think so'. I really wasn't sure. Once I found out, I had to be even more
careful not to drop any secrets or give anything away." The first part of the Doctor Who series finale will air on BBC One from 6.50pm.
