Join us on WhatsAppA 'wolf and witch' night market with trinkets, tarot and unique gifts will be returning to Teesside - this time with a pride twist.
The unique event stems from a collaborative effort between friends Claire Keen, 40, and Jane Burns, 40, and aims to blend their popular alternative market atmosphere with a vibrant theme in
Middlesbrough for Pride Month.
Claire said: “We are always fully inclusive, and everyone is welcome at Wolf Witch Markets." She said the event is a heartfelt tribute to the LGTBQ+ community which regularly participates in
their markets.
Claire added: “We feature many Queer-owned businesses, and a significant portion of our customers and followers identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. We want them to know they are loved,
welcomed, and supported.”
Attendees can look forward to a dynamic experience, incorporating the enchanting ambiance of their typical markets with the uplifting energy of Pride. The event will showcase over 90
traders, a range of Pride entertainment, tarot and divination providers, and the bar and café facilities at Eston Leisure Centre will be open.
Entrance is free and, to enhance the experience, the first 30 adults will receive free goodie bags. Alternative dress is encouraged, particularly drag, to celebrate the spirit of the event.
Scheduled for June 28, from 5pm to 9pm at Eston Leisure Centre in Middlesbrough, the duo says the venue allows them to accommodate a larger number of traders. Additionally, they are
exploring options for venues outside of Middlesbrough to extend their reach, having already held a successful event in Hartlepool.
They are also partnering with three other North East markets for an upcoming event in October to support fellow alternative event organisers in the region.

Mum-of-three Claire identifies as a Pagan, while Jane identifies as a Norse/Celtic Pagan. Award-winning Pagan of the North magazine named their market the Pagan Market of the Year 2024, an
honour Claire hopes to retain in the upcoming year.
Over the past three years, the markets, which began as a small venture between two crafting friends, have grown significantly, attracting nearly 600 attendees per event. Their ethos focuses
on celebrating the alternative and unique aspects of the community.
Mum Jane holds a degree in Biomedical Science from Durham University and worked as a laboratory technician for the NHS for 15 years. While Claire has a long-standing career as a secondary
school teacher specialising in Design Technology, following her studies at the Cleveland College of Art and Design.
