Two men deny attempted murder after alleged shooting

Two men charged with attempted murder have appeared at Teesside Crown Court. Luis Fonseca, 20, and Derem Turner, 19, both pleaded not guilty to the charge, which came after an alleged


shooting in Hartlepool on Thursday January 2. Police confirmed a man was left seriously injured after suffering gunshot wounds. A large cordon was erected on Garside Drive in Hartlepool as


police investigated. Fonseca, of Cameron Road in Hartlepool, also denied six other charges. Wearing a grey tracksuit, he stood in the dock and pleaded not guilty to: • the theft of a bike on


December 24 of last year • the possession of a machete in Hartlepool on the same date • the possession of ammunition without a certificate on January 2 • the possession of a firearm when


prohibited, on January 2 • the possession of a class A drug, crack cocaine, with intent to supply on January 2 • the possession if a class A drug, cocaine, with intent to supply on the same
