Tankerville Street in Hartlepool on Sunday afternoon, June 1, after initial calls about a dog attack were made shortly before 2pm. Cleveland Police has confirmed three German Shepherd dogs

escaped from a property in Sheriff Street and attacked several people. One person has been taken to the University Hospital of North Tees in an ambulance while three others, who are said to

have suffered minor injuries, were treated on scene before making their own way to hospital. A police spokesperson said: "Three dogs have been seized by police following an incident in

Hartlepool shortly before 2pm this afternoon, Sunday, June 1. "The German Shepherd dogs had escaped from a property on Sheriff Street in Hartlepool and attacked several people in the

street. Those injured were treated by paramedics at the scene. "All of the dogs have been removed from the property by officers, and the area is now safe again. We are aware of some

speculation circulating on social media and can confirm that none of the dogs have been destroyed. "Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with information or footage is

asked to call 101 quoting reference 98951." In the aftermath of the attack, Cleveland Police asked that people to stay away from the area and remain indoors with their doors closed,

whilst officers dealt with the incident. Photographs from the scene show a cordon was erected in Sheriff Street near the junction with Tankersville Street. At least five police cars could be

seen blocking the road in Sheriff Street as some of the armed officers carried shields. A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.54pm on Sunday 1 June to
