A neighbour has described a "huge big explosion" as firefighters and police officers were called to the scene of a vehicle fire in Stockton. Photographs from the scene in the
aftermath of the blaze show extensive damage to the front of a white van, in Hamilton Road, Stockton. Firefighters and Cleveland Police officers were called to the street at 1.20am on
Sunday, June 1. Witnesses say police officers were conducting door-to-door enquiries in the early hours of the morning and the police dog unit is said to have been in the area. A
spokesperson for Cleveland Fire Brigade said: "We received a call at 1.20am to reports of a vehicle fire. We sent one appliance from out Stockton station. "We left the scene at
1.59am." The spokesperson was unable to confirm whether the fire was being treated as deliberate this time. One neighbour said: "I just had the dog in the garden, I heard some lads
shouting... followed by two loud bangs and then a huge big explosion." Photographs show extensive damage to the front of the white work van, with debris scattered in the immediate
vicinity. Teesside Live has contacted Cleveland Police for details. FOR TEESSIDE UPDATES AND BREAKING NEWS DIRECT TO YOUR INBOX EVERY DAY, GO HERE TO SIGN UP TO OUR FREE NEWSLETTER JOIN
