10 May 1999 VDC MOVES TO AVOID GENUS BID THE veterinary and dental healthcare products distributor, VDC, has announced a reverse takeover with another company in a move to avoid being taken


over by Genus. The other company involved is Lawrence, a chemicals group supplying the animal feed and petcare industries. VDC has been fighting a hostile takeover from Genus, a cattle


breeding and farm consultancy group. The VDC/Lawrence deal would create a group with a capitalisation of just over £42 million.
