offered the milking portion of their Heddon herd at Carlisle last week. Heddon Coral 4th is by Bargower Scottish Award and out of a Dilham Rebellion sired dam. Buyer was R Lindsay, Carlisle.
Another by the same bull, the in-calf heifer Heddon Silver Bell 37th, made 1050gns to J Kinloch and Sons, Dunbarton. She had been served by Bargower Mountain Echo. Averages: 114 head £449.
(Harrison and Hetherington) uGOOD harvesting weather took the edge off demand for dairy cows when 300 were sold at two West Country sales last week. Mr and Mrs A E Woollastons 150 head
offered at Wiveliscombe, Taunton, reached 750gns for a July calver by Var Omo taken by Messrs Marshall, Bristol. November-calving heifers by Cranholme Conqueror sold to 490gns. A third
calver by Sunny Boy was best for R J Netherway at Cotleigh, Honiton, Devon, selling for 710gns. Autumn calving heifers sold to 550gns. (Stags) *
