PSA REVAMPS ORGANIZATION

Singapore-based global terminal operator PSA Corp. has announced a move to a new regional organization, and appointed Eddie Teh, a former Hutchison Port Holdings, as its group chief

executive.    The changes mark the latest steps in an overhaul of the group.    PSA, which set out a plan in February to cut 800 jobs globally, has defined four regions, each with a senior

executive in charge. In turn, each regional chief executive officer will report to Teh, PSA’s group CEO, who was until last year a senior executive at arch-rival port group Hutchison Port

Holdings.    The four regions of the Singapore-based port group will be Singapore, Europe, China, Asia/Middle East other than Singapore and China. PSA currently has no activities in North

America.    “Going forward, we will be working to transform PSA into a multinational corporation,” said Teh. He added that the new management structure is geared towards being responsive to

changing business conditions, and focusing on running container ports. The Singaporean state-controlled port operator has recently sold its airport handling, cruise terminal, exhibitions and

cable businesses.    Ng Chee Keong has been named president and CEO of PSA’s Singapore region. Wong Seng Chee will be the chief representative for China. John Ong has been appointed CEO of

the Asia and Middle East region. For an interim period, The will assume oversight responsibility for Belgium, Italy and Portugal, pending a reorganization of the European operations.
