Hamburg Sud to open Mexico office Hamburg Sud will establish a proprietary office in Mexico to take over its general agency functions in the country from Representaciones Maritimas
(Repmar). Effective April 3, Joern Baetke and John Metzger will head Hamburg Sud Mexico S.A. de C.V. as joint general managers from an office located in Mexico City. Repmar will
continue to act as port agents and intermodal service providers in Mexico for the German shipping line. Along with its subsidiary, Alianca, Hamburg Sud said it has more than doubled its
volumes in Mexico in the past two years with more than 300 port calls a year and weekly liner services to and from Veracruz, Altamira, Manzanillo and Ensenada.
