HAMBURG-SUD RENAMES DEUTSCHE NAH-OST LINIEN UNIT HAMBURG-SUD RENAMES DEUTSCHE NAH-OST LINIEN UNIT Hamburg-Sud, the German shipping group which owns Columbus Line, has decided to rename
its Deutsche Nah-Ost Linien shipping unit. Deutsche Nah-Ost Linien -- or German Near East Line -- will operate under the parent company's name Hamburg-Sud as from July 1.
Deutsche Nah-Ost Linien runs liner services between northern Europe and the eastern Mediterranean. Hamburg-Sud said that the change of name does not affect other aspects of the business.
