ChemLogix, a provider of chemical industry transportation management, technology, and supply chain consulting services, has launched a new module for its transportation management service
(TMS) geared to rail fleet oversight. To do this, ChemLogix has partnered with GeoMetrix and adding that company’s rail logistics guidance technology to its TMS. GeoMetrix’s software
adds intra-plant management, distribution planning, maintenance, and lease management support to its existing railcar fleet management. The company said the new Web-based service will
give it an analytical advantage in the marketplace as will its ability to support “drag and drop” features similar to Excel to more services. The companies have not announced what levels
of service the partnership will bring, as GeoMetrix currently has three variations of its offering.
