Reserve Land In Master Plan To Build Diplomatic Enclave, MP Shankar Lalwani Urges CM Mohan Yadav | INDORE (MADHYA PRADESH): MP Shankar Lalwani has urged chief minister Mohan Yadav that in
the upcoming Master Plan of the city a land parcel should be reserved for building a ‘diplomatic enclave’, where consulates of other countries may be set up in future. In a letter to the CM
in this context, Lalwani mentioned that the process of giving metropolitan status to the city should be expedited. He said that when the blueprint of the metropolitan area was being
prepared, land should be reserved for the building of consulates of various countries from now on. It may be pointed out that the consulates work to promote trade, investment, education and
cultural activities of a country. Currently the consulates of various countries are in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. If these centres are established here too, the
city would directly get many international benefits. “Today, when the city is being planned, land should be reserved for consulates keeping in mind future needs. This will not cause any
hindrance in construction work or permission in future. Consulates are usually built by the government of the country concerned, but the land is provided by the state government. That is why
it is important to decide which area in the city will be developed as a diplomatic enclave.” Lalwani said.
